Deputies rescued a 14-year-old hiker from Mount Pilchuck this afternoon after he reportedly fell about 100 yards down the mountain and was seriously injured, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Crews were called about 12:43 p.m. to the scene near Granite Falls.

A helicopter airlifted the boy about 3 p.m. He was taken to an area hospital for what were considered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Lt. Brent Speyer with the sheriff’s office.

Details about the hiker’s hometown and who he was with at the time of the accident were not immediately available.
