Man charged in weekend shooting in Lakewood

Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old man with two counts of attempted second-degree murder after a shooting Saturday in Lakewood that appears to have gang ties.

Ryan G. Clark was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of attempted second-degree murder and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. He’s being held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Charging documents provide the following information:

Lakewood police were notified of a shooting Saturday. The shooting occurred about 10 p.m. in the 7000 block of 146th Street Southwest.

No arrests yet in Sunday’s road-rage shooting

Tacoma police reported no arrests Monday in the weekend shooting of a 2-year-old girl after a road-rage incident on the East Side.

The girl was shot in the leg around 2 p.m. Sunday. She was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Tacoma police reported the shooting occurred during a traffic dispute at East 82nd Street and McKinley Avenue East.

The incident involved two cars – a white Honda sedan and a black Ford Explorer. The girl’s father was driving the sedan when the black Explorer allegedly cut him off. The father cut off the Explorer.

Tacoma detectives looking for help in shooting of young woman

Tacoma police detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding the gunman who shot and critically wounded a 27-year-old woman earlier this month.

Jacqueline Niemi was found shot about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 200 block of South 79th Street. She was lying along the curb, unresponsive and critically injured, police reported.

Neighbors reported the shooting. Investigators found no witnesses to what happened, however.

Niemi is expected to survive.

Niemi’s family agreed to release her name and photograph in hopes that someone will recognize her and know whom she might have been with the night she was shot.

Man shot in stomach, friend arrested in Tacoma

A man was injured and his friend arrested Wednesday night after a shooting in South Tacoma.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, Tacoma police reported. He was being treated at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Tacoma police responded to a home in the 2900 block of South Proctor Street on Wednesday night after receiving a call that someone was shot in the abdomen, police reported.

Officers found the victim, who was uncooperative. Paramedics treated the man at the scene and transported him to St. Joseph Medical Center, where he was immediately taken into surgery, police reported.

UPDATED: Man accidentally shoots himself in leg in Tacoma

A 20-year-old Tacoma man accidentally shot himself in the leg while in his car Wednesday morning in Tacoma, Tacoma police reported.

The man told officers he was clearing his gun to it put away before getting to his second job, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The gun went off and the man was shot in the leg. The injury was not life threatening.

The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of South 38th Street shortly after 6 a.m.

Troopers found the man, Fulghum said.

UPDATED: Workplace shooting in Kent injures two

This just in from Kent police:

On 11/09/09 at 1434 hours, Kent Police were dispatched to a shooting incident at Kent Body and Paint located at 831 5th Av. S.

Officers located a male subject with a gunshot injury.  The subject’s injuries are life-threatening. 

A block away Kent Police located another male subject also with a serious gunshot injury. 

Preliminary investigation reveals there was a dispute between two employees of the business.  One employee was shot in the arm and abdomen with serious injuries.   It appears the other employee then shot himself in the head with life-threatening injuries.

UPDATED: Two injured in Tacoma shooting

Two people were injured and two are in custody after a home-invasion robbery-turned-shooting this morning in the Hilltop.

The shooting occurred inside a three-story apartment building in the 700 block of South I Street just before 6 a.m., Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum reported. Callers to 911 reported hearing several gunshots.

According to police, several suspects burst into a second-floor apartment and confronted a man who was sleeping inside. The suspects pistol-whipped and beat the man, Fulghum said.

The man was able to disarm one of the suspects. The suspects started leave the apartment, Fulghum said.

One injured in early morning shooting in Federal Way

Federal Way police are searching for a gunman who shot a man in the abdomen early today at a condominium complex.

No arrest has been reported.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Heritage Condominiums in the 100 block of South 340th Street about 5:30 a.m., police reported.

They found a man who had been shot at least once in the abdomen. He was conscious and talking to officers and providing a suspect description when they arrived, police reported. The age of the victim wasn’t immediately known.

Officers were in the area, investigating and searching for the shooter.
