Seattle officer who survived deadly Oct. 31 shooting honored

The Seattle police officer who survived the shooting Halloween night that killed her partner is being honored by Q13′s Washington Most Wanted television show.

Officer Britt Sweeney will be awarded the show’s Officer of the Month for November on the episode that airs tonight at 10:30 p.m.

Sweeney also gives her first public interview since the Oct. 31 shooting that killed Seattle officer Timothy Brenton.

“Officer Sweeney will talk about what made her become a police officer, how she’s doing since the shooting, how the shooting has changed her and much more,” the show announced in a press

Agg murder charge to be filed in Seattle police officer’s death

King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg announced this morning he will file aggravated murder charges – the state’s highest crime – against the man accused of killing a Seattle police officer Oct. 31.

Memorial today for slain Seattle police officer

The memorial events today for slain Seattle police officer Timothy Brenton have begun in Seattle. Dozens of Pierce County-area law enforcement officers are participating. You can find a gallery of photographs here.

Honor guard members from the Tacoma Police and Pierce County Sheriff’s departments as well as traffic officers are in attendance. Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor and deputies who went to the academy with Brenton also are attending. The Lakewood Police Department sent 18 officers.
