Power restored to Anderson Island after outage that started this afternoon

Power was cut to Anderson Island today from about 2:30 p.m. until roughly 7:45 p.m., according to Tanner Electric Cooperative.

The outage happened when some Puget Sound Energy service was affected on the mainland, according to Tanner.

Puget Sound Energy said about 6:30 p.m. that crews were removing a large tree from an overhead transmission line in Thurston County.

About 7,000 customers were affected by the Thurston outage, according to the agency.

Scattered outages reported in region

There are scattered power outages this morning in several Western Washington counites, including Pierce, King and Thurtson, Puget Sound Energy reported.

Crews have been dispatched to the outage locations and were working to restore electricity to those impacted.

The Peninsula Light Company reported no outages on its web site this morning.

The state DOT is cautioning drivers of severe side winds in both directions on Highway 16 across the Narrows Bridge.

Wind causes power outages in south, east King County

About 5,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in south and east King County are without electricity this morning.

The wind has knocked some tree limbs down onto power lines, causing the outages, the utility reports.

Crews are working to fix the problem in about 70 locations in Enumclaw, south King and east King county.
