Police: Kent baristas arrested for committing lewd acts for drive-up customers

Tips given to two baristas at a Kent drive-thru coffee shop weren’t just for espresso, according to police.

Officers arrested the women Wednesday after they allegedly committed lewd acts at Twin Peaks Espresso on Kent’s East Hill.

Police began investigating late last year after reports that women were exposing themselves and committing lewd acts for drive-up customers while working at the stand at 24013 104th Ave. SE.

The women were compensated in tips, paid for the coffee, that ranged from $10 to $25, according to police.

March Against Crime in Tacoma set for Friday evening

Members of at least 18 Tacoma neighborhood groups will hit the streets Friday night in a March Against Crime.

The third-annual march kicks off with a rally at 6 p.m. at the corner of 82nd Street and Pacific Avenue.

As part of the event, community members will unveil newly-created anti-prostitution signs. The signs are part of a pilot project designed to crack down on street prostitution along Pacific Avenue in Tacoma. The signs will be given to business owners in the Stay Out of Areas of Prostitution zone.

Man charged with pimping, trying to kidnap teen

Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old man accused of pimping a teenage girl and trying to kidnap her.

Prosecutors charged Doninique Trevon Dinwiddie on Tuesday with first-degree promoting prostitution, attempted first-degree kidnapping and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
