No one seriously injured when plane crashes at Eatonville home

The pilot and passenger of a Cessna 172 suffered minor injures when the plane crashed about 5 p.m. Thursday into the yard of an Eatonville home.

Eatonville Fire Chief Bob Hudspeth said the aircraft was destroyed, but that the occupants, who were headed from Oregon to Seattle, were not seriously hurt.

The pilot took a detour to try to miss a rain squall, Hudspeth said, and the plane crash landed into the yard near Swanson Field, where it came to rest at the front door of a house along Airport Road East.

Deputies en route to reported plane crash west of Shelton

UPDATE: The plane seems to have lost power, and as the pilot attempted to land on the road, flipped, State Patrol trooper Russ Winger said.

Deputies are heading to the site of a reported plane crash about 17 miles west of Shelton along West Shelton-Matlock Road, according to Mason County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dean Byrd.

The pilot doesn’t appear to be injured, but deputies are on their way to the crash, and have not yet confirmed the report, Byrd said.
