Party patrol responds to complaints in Tacoma last weekend

Tacoma police officers responded to 21 party complaint calls during party intervention patrols last weekend.

None led to arrests of minors for drinking.

On Friday night, the officers responded to six complaints. All turned out to be adult parties, Tacoma police Lt. Bart Hayes said.

On Saturday night, officers on the party intervention patrol checked out 15 party calls.

The officers were headed out to one party in the South End when shots were fired at the location. Three females and a male were later arrested in connection with the shots fired call. No injuries were reported.

The party intervention patrol is being funded by a federal grant. This is the department’s first party patrol. More are anticipated, department spokesman Mark Fulghum said.
