Meanwhile, the masked bandit entered the store wielding a gun about 12:40 a.m. He looked around for the clerk but finding neither the clerk nor anyone else, left empty handed.

Tacoma police responded and checked the area. They did not find the suspect.

The investigation was continuing.

Follow-up to Wednesday’s police activity at a North End apartment

Earlier this week, I did a “what was that” blog post on police activity in the North End. A reader had sent me an e-mail after spotting SWAT team members going into an apartment early Wednesday.

Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said the activity was for a narcotics-related warrant.

I’ve located charging documents on this drug investigation. Here’s some more detail from those court documents.

In December, officers received a tip from a confidential informant that two men – Antoine Henderson and Darren Anderson Thrash – were dealing crack cocaine. One man of the men lived in the 5600

Police respond to alleged North End home invasion

Tacoma police are investigating an alleged North End home invasion Sunday evening.

Around 7:30 p.m., police dispatchers received a call from the 3400 block of North Monroe Street. A woman calling from the basement reported four masked people with guns in her home and two shots fired, according to the police scanner.

When police units arrived, the house’s four residents said that the intruders had fled, according to Tacoma Police Department spokesman Mark Fulghum. Investigators searched the home and found no obvious signs of foul play. “Nothing was damaged, no one was injured,” Fulghum said.
