Firefighters responded to a Lacey apartment fire Sunday evening in the 2600 block of Wilderness Drive Southeast, just after 10 p.m.
None of the residents were home during the blaze. Firefighters rescued a dog and a cat from the building, and extinguished the flames within 10 minutes of arriving, a spokesperson for Lacey Fire said.
Investigators think food left cooking on the stove might have started the fire, officials said.
