Kent man arrested in December shooting death of teenage girl

King County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 25-year-old Kent man in connection with the death of a teenage girl last December.

The man has been booked into the Regional Justice Center in Kent on investigation of homicide, the Sheriff’s Office announced today. Bail was set at $100,000.

Kelsey Carter, 16,  had been reported as a runaway from her Enumclaw home in October. The night of Dec. 11 she was at a home in the 33900 block of Southeast Green River Headworks Roads.

Pedestrian hit by a car, injured in Kent early today

A Kent man was seriously injured this morning when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road, the Kent Police Department reported.

Paramedics took the 54-year-old victim to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

The man was crossing 108th Avenue Southeast at Southeast 200th Street just after 5:30 a.m. today when, according to witnesses, he stepped into the path of a northbound vehicle and was struck. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured, police said.

‘Many questions still need to be answered’ in Kent home invasion, police say

Here’s the latest from Kent police in its investigation into a home invasion early Tuesday that left one man injured:

Kent Police are continuing their investigation into yesterday’s disturbance at an east hill home that left a Kent man seriously injured.

One detained, two others sought after Kent home-invasion early today

Kent police have arrested one man and were searching for others in connection with a home-invasion early today.

Residents of a home in the 22800 block of 103rd Avenue Southeast called 911 just after 2:10 a.m. to report the incident. They had detained a 31-year-old Kent man that had been part of a group that forced its way into the home, police reported.

The victims reported that three men they didn’t know arrived at the home early today. One of the victims confronted one of the suspects outside, police said.

Man injured in forklift accident at FedEx facility in Kent

The Kent Fire Department reported that a man was injured around 4:10 a.m. today in a forklift accident at a FedEx facility in Kent.

He was trapped by a part of the forklift he was driving. Employees were able to quickly free him from the vehicle, according to the news release. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the employer.

The man has been taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of the injuries. The seriousness of the injuries was not immediately known.

Updated: Two critically injured in shooting at Kent apartment

Two people were critically injured Thursday night during a shooting in Kent and the gunman remains on the loose.

The shooting occurred at the Country Squire Apartments, 10835 S.E. 200th St., just before 8:15 p.m., the Kent Police Department reported.

Paramedics took two victims to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were described as men in their late 30s. Both had life threatening injuries, police reported.

The investigation was underway. No arrest or motive has been released.

The Kent Police Department has not released a description of the suspect.

Updated: Ramps from SR 516 to I-5 closed in Kent

The ramps from westbound state Route 516 to northbound Interstate 5 in Kent are closed because of a rolled over semi, the state DOT reports.

Drivers were being detoured to the carpool ramp. That is now closed so tow trucks can upright the semi.

<B>UPDATE: </B>All the ramps were reopened to traffic just before noon.

UPDATED: One seriously injured in head-on crash this morning near Kent

One man was critically injured this morning after the car he was riding in collided head-on with a Kent School District delivery truck on Kent’s East Hill.

The 27-year-old Renton man was a passenger in the Volvo sedan. He had to be extricated, Kent police reported. Paramedics took the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not seriously injured. The driver of the delivery truck was not injured, police reported.
