Pharmacy robber arrested by Deputy Mundell off to federal prison

Here’s the news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle:

DREW J. TOSTENSON, 49, of Orting, Washington, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to 57 months in prison and three years of supervised release for Pharmacy Robbery and Attempted Pharmacy Robbery. TOSTENSON was arrested April 23, 2009, in the parking lot outside a Puyallup pharmacy. Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputy Kent Mundell spotted TOSTENSON sitting in his car, wearing a disguise similar to one he had worn in a previous robbery. Skate night raises money for Mundell family

A fund raiser at a Puyallup skating rink brought in more than $6,600 for the family of slain Pierce County sheriff’s deputy Kent Mundell.

The event was held Thursday night at Tiffany’s Skate Inn on Meridian in Puyallup.

More than 415 people attended, including Mundell’s children, 16-year-old Kirsten and 10-year-old Austin, the business reported.

Fundraiser Thursday for Mundell family

Tiffany’s Skate Inn will host a fund-raising event Thursday night for the family of slain Pierce County sheriff’s deputy Kent Mundell.

The event is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Tiffany’s, 1113 N. Meridian, in Puyallup.

The cost of $10 per person includes skate rental. There will be a live musical performance and a raffle.

All proceeds from admissions and pizza sales will go to the Mundell family. Additional donations can be made at the ticket window.

Slain Seattle officer’s widow leads department’s mourners

Lisa Brenton and her young son led more than 100 Seattle Police officers into the Tacoma Dome for today’s memorial service for Pierce County Deputy Kent Mundell.

Officer Timothy Brenton was murdered as he sat in his patrol car in Seattle on October 31.

Rituals mark police memorial services

Today’s memorial is full of tradition and ritual.
