Federal Way officers fire at suspects in stolen vehicle after patrol car rammed

Our news partners at KIRO-TV report that Renton Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Federal Way.

Paul Cline of the Renton Police Department told KIRO that what started around 1 a.m. today with officers spotting a stolen vehicle ended with two Federal Way officers firing at suspects.

According to Cline, officers spotted the car, determined it was a stolen vehicle and set out spike strips in the 33300 block of 26th Avenue Southwest.

Lakewood man accused in wife’s death to make court appearance today

A 42-year-old Lakewood man suspected of fatally shooting his wife Wednesday evening at a Federal Way church will make his first court appearance this afternoon.

He’s scheduled for a bail hearing in Seattle at 2:30 p.m., said Dan Donohoe, spokesman for the King County Prosecutor’s Office. The man was booked into King County Jail on Wednesday night on suspicion of murder.

Federal Way police have said the man fatally shot his 38-year-old wife during a marital counseling session at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2415 S. 320th St., in Federal Way.

Truck sideswipes police car, plows into Federal Way home

A teenage boy is accused of driving drunk, hitting a patrol car and then plowing into a house in Federal Way early this morning.

Police said the boy’s friends called police to try to keep him from driving from a party shortly before 2 a.m.

As officers arrived, the teen fled in a pickup and sideswiped a police cruiser, police told KIRO-TV.

Police said officers were close to the driver when he failed to negotiate a corner and drove off the road into a house near the intersection of 30th Avenue and Southwest 325th Street.

Woman fatally shot at Federal Way church

Federal Way police are investigating the fatal shooting of a Lakewood woman in a church Wednesday evening.

Around 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2415 South 320th St., and found one gunshot victim, a 38-year-old woman. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.

Investigators determined that a 42-year-old Lakewood man, the victim’s husband, fired a handgun several times at her during a couples counseling session at the church. The suspect called 911 to report the shooting. He was arrested without incident.

Federal Way man dies after family fight in Lewis County

A Federal Way man was killed and a family member was in custody after a fight this weekend in Randle.

The assault occurred Saturday night in the 11000 block of U.S. 12, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning. The 58-year-old victim was allegedly injured by a 42-year-old family member, deputies reported.

Deputies were called to Morton General Hospital after the victim arrived for treatment. He then left the hospital and was taken to the Federal Way area, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

UPDATED: Three injured, one critically, in Federal Way hit-and-run

Federal Way police were looking into whether alcohol was involved in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday night that injured two pedestrians, one critically.

The suspected driver, a 59-year-old Federal Way man, was later found at near a residence not too far from the crash scene. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with non-life threatening injuries, police reported.

The two injured pedestrians were a 16-year-old Tacoma  boy and a 20-year-old Kent man. The boy was released to a family member after being interviewed and transported for medical care, police reported.

The Kent man was airlifted to Harborview for treatment

Second suspect identified in deadly Federal Way shooting

Federal Way police believe they have identified the person suspected of shooting two people – killing one – early Sunday.

Detectives were working to obtain a warrant for the 20-year-old Federal Way man’s arrest, Federal Way police spokesman Raymond Bunk said. The News Tribune is not yet naming the man because he’s not been charged in the deadly shooting and a warrant has not been issued for his arrest.
