Tacoma crime news and notes for December 2009

Earlier this week, the December reports for the Tacoma Police Department’s sectors and specialty units were posted on the agency’s web site.

Here are some highlights.

Sector 1: Officers were called to a robbery in the 1100 block of South I Street. Two men confronted the victim as he got off a bus. The suspects demanded money and hit the victim. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone and Bluetooth headset. The suspects fled on foot and the victim was not injured.

The sector’s community liaison officers handled three abandoned autos and attended eight community/district meetings.

Crime news and notes for Tacoma, September 2009 edition

Tacoma police commanders recently posted their monthly reports for September on the department’s Web site. Here’s some highlights.

Sector 1: Officers and detectives arrested a suspect after a burglary at a Northeast Tacoma home. Investigators developed the suspect information and made the arrest within an hour of the burglary.

The Sector 1 community liaison officers performed three building inspections, four board-ups, impounded 10 abandoned automobiles and made 19 arrests.

Crime news and notes for Tacoma for August

Here’s a look at the Tacoma Police Department’s monthly reports for its sectors and specialty units. The reports are posted online.

Sector 1: No report posted.

Sector 2: Investigators were searching for three men after a home-invasion robbery in the 6300 block of North Hale Street. The suspects assaulted the home’s occupant with a pistol and took a TV. The victim was treated at St. Joseph Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. The home had been the previous focus of drug complaints and other suspicious activity. A code inspection was done.

Tacoma crime news and notes from July 2009

Here’s a look at the highlights from the July 2009 monthly reports submitted by Tacoma police sector and specialty unit commanders. The reports have been posted on the Tacoma Police Department’s Web site.

Sector 1: Officers seized 116 marijuana plants after serving a drug warrant on an abandoned building in the 2500 block of Tacoma Avenue South. Members of the department’s HEAT team found a grow operation in three rooms of the building, which was then boarded up by code inspectors.
