Federal Way man, driver injured in Mason County rollover crash

A Federal Way man, 31, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after a one-vehicle rollover crash in Mason County Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old Burien man driving the Mitsubishi van that crashed was also flown to the hospital, the State Patrol said.

Their conditions were not immediately available Sunday.

According to the State Patrol, they were heading south on U.S. Highway 101 13 miles north of Hoodsport about 1 p.m., when the vehicle drifted into the ditch and rolled onto the driver’s side, breaking the windshield.

Both occupants fell out of the van.

What caused the crash is still being investigated.

Classic Chevrolet convertible stolen from Burien garage

A turquoise 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was stolen from a Burien business over the weekend, and the King County Sheriff’s Office hopes the public can help find the vintage convertible.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 6:30 a.m. Saturday to the Burien City Garage in the 14900 block of Ambaum Boulevard Southwest. A garage employee discovered the business had been forcibly entered and the car, which had been parked in the showroom, was gone.

1 killed, 5 injured in wrong-way crash in Burien

One man was killed and five others were injured late Monday when a wrong-way driver caused a series of crashes on state Route 509 in Burien.

An on-duty ambulance driver called 911 just after 11:50 p.m. to report that a silver Subaru was going south in the northbound lanes of SR 509 just south of South 128th Street, the State Patrol reports.

The Subaru had been going north but abruptly turned around for an unknown reason and drove into oncoming traffic.

The Subaru hit a Ford Explorer head-on, then spun into an Acura Integra, troopers reported.

Burien man arrested after allegedly firing shotgun at passing cars

King County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 54-year-old Burien man this morning after he allegedly fired at least one shotgun round at passing cars.

No injuries were reported and it appears no cars were struck, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies were alerted to the activity about 5 a.m. today. A driver called 911 to report that someone had pointed a gun at him as he passed through the intersection of South 128th and First Avenue South, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies and Burien police officers arrived at the intersection. They found a man holding what appeared to be a long-barreled gun.
