Bonney Lake boys on scooter and bike suffer non life-threatening injuries in crash with vehicle

A pair of 12-year-old boys were taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Thursday night after they were hit by a vehicle when they blew through a stop sign in Bonney Lake, police Sgt. Robert Haog said.

Their injuries are not life-threatening, he said.

One boy was riding a scooter and the other a bike, when a slow moving vehicle hit them about 9:30 p.m. at 75th Street East and 194th Avenue East, according to police.

Hoag said officers are still investigating the crash.


Bonney Lake police release sketch of suspect in child luring

Bonney Lake police Wednesday released a sketch of a man suspected of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into his van June 13.

The girl told officers that about 6:35 a.m. a middle-aged man passed her in his van and turned around twice as she was walking from her bus stop to a friend’s bus stop.

Fearful, the girl started to walk faster to the friend’s house.

At the corner of 110th Street Court East and Angeline Road East, the van pulled next to her and the driver said: “I’m going to get you.”

Man accused of hitting 4-year-old daughter with belt, putting her in cold bath for half an hour after she threw away dinner

A 37-year-old man pleaded not guilty to second-degree child assault today, after he allegedly abused his four-year-old daughter by striking her with his belt and putting her in a cold bath for about half an hour.

According to charging papers:

Marcellus Noelval White hit the girl with his belt multiple times Sunday after she threw away her dinner, and he put her in the cold water to calm her down and make the injuries less visible.

The child was shivering when she got out of the bath.

Her mother told officers she saw White hit the girl about seven times

Hand grenade removed from Bonney Lake yard

The Pierce County bomb squad removed a hand grenade found in the backyard of a Bonney Lake home, police officers said about 1:15 p.m.

The grenade was found outside a residence in the 20800 block of 91st Street East. It’s not clear where it came from, according to Bonney Lake police.

Further details were not immediately available.


UPDATED: Police investigating Bonney Lake assault, victim being treated for possible machete wound

UPDATE as of 8:27 p.m. The assault appears to be a drug deal gone bad, according to Bonney Lake police. It’s not clear what, if anything, was taken during the attack, officers said. The K9 track has been suspended. One suspect is further described as a 17- to 18-year-old man, 5 foot 8, 140 pounds, with dark hair and red hoops in his ear lobes.

INITIAL POST: Officers are investigating a robbery that happened this evening in the wooded area in the 21400 block of state Route 410, according to Bonney Lake police.

Man with gunshot wounds found dead in Bonney Lake garage

UPDATE 9:40 A.M. Bonney Lake Police report that four suspects were booked into jail on suspicion of murder. “Shooting occurred during a drug deal that went bad,” the department tweeted.

EARLIER STORY: Bonney Lake police were called about 4 p.m. to the 19200 block of 75th Street East for a report of a possible shooting victim.

When officers arrived they found the body of a man in his early to mid-20s with apparent gunshot wounds in the garage of the residence, police said.

The death is being investigated as a homicide, Bonney Lake police spokesman Todd Green said.

Man killed in alleged hit-and-run in Bonney Lake

A 47-year-old man died this evening after being hit by a truck while walking in the 10100 block of 214th Avenue East, where officials were called about 5:30 p.m. according to the Bonney Lake Police Department.

The man was walking northbound on the shoulder of the road, just off State Route 410 East, when he was hit by the truck and rolled up onto its windshield and hood, police spokesman Todd Green said.

He was carried for a few hundred feet before he fell to the ground.
