Auburn man fatally crushed working on truck identified

An Auburn man who died Saturday when the truck he was working under crushed him has been identified as 73-year-old Milton Brower, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office said Wednesday.

Auburn police said Brower was working to remove the transmission of an older Nissan truck he had recently purchased, when the jacks he was using failed and the vehicle fell and killed him near Southeast 304th Way and 108th Avenue Southeast.

Crews were called about 7 p.m. when his daughter found him, but it wasn’t immediately clear when the accident happened, police said.

Police say Auburn man, 72, died when jacks failed while he was working under truck

A 72-year-old Auburn man died Saturday night when the truck he was working under crushed him, according to police.

Crews were called just before 7 p.m. to the scene near Southeast 304th Way and 108th Avenue Southeast, where the man was pronounced dead, Auburn police Cmdr. Mike Hirman said.

The man had an older Nissan truck he had recently purchased jacked up on four stands, and was working to remove the vehicle’s transmission when the jacks failed and the truck crushed him, Hirman said.

It’s not clear how long the man was there before his daughter found him, Hirman said.

Auburn girl, 9, accidentally shot in leg by 7-year-old brother

A girl suffered non life -threatening injuries at her Auburn home tonight when her 7-year-old brother accidentally shot her in the leg, according to Auburn police.

The shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of Auburn Way South.

The .22 caliber rifle was in the closet of a third sibling who was not home at the time, Cmdr. Mike Hirman said.

The girl was taken to Harborview Medical Center, and police are investigating whether to recommend charges for an adult, he said.

3 fatally shot outside Auburn bar Sunday identified

The three men shot and killed outside The Sports Page tavern in Auburn early Sunday morning were identified today by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Antuan Greer, 21, and Lorenzo Duncan, 23, both died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the office.

Nicholas Lindsay, 26, died of a gunshot wound to the torso.

All three deaths were ruled homicides.

Police say man shot at in Auburn returned fire with 5-year-old son in backseat, gun found in child’s pocket

Auburn police say a domestic dispute today escalated to gunfire exchanged between two vehicles, and ended with officers finding a gun in the pocket of a 5-year-old boy who was in the backseat of one of the cars.

Officers responded at 11:20 a.m. to a report of gunshots fired at 21st Place Southeast and 21st Street Southeast.

A man in his early thirties was parked in the driveway of a former girlfriend with their five-year-old son in the backseat, according to Cmdr. Mike Hirman.

The woman and two other men drove up and fired several rounds at the man, Hirman said.

Man fatally shot in Auburn apartment complex identified, suspects arrested

A man who was fatally shot during a fight at an Auburn apartment complex Monday was identified by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office today as 40-year-old Michael Stevenson.

Two others were injured in the fight between two groups of people about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the complex in the 2000 block of I Street Northeast.

A 23-year-old man suffered nonfatal gunshot and stab wounds and a 30-year-old woman suffered a cut to her arm, according to Auburn police

Man fatally shot in Auburn apartment complex, two others injured

A man was fatally shot in an Auburn apartment complex tonight, according to police.

A fight broke out about 8:30 p.m. at 2022 I Street Northeast, shots were fired and two men were hit, Auburn police Cmdr. Mike Hirman said.

Both men are about 25-years-old. One died from his injuries, and the other was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, Hirman said.

A woman in her early 30s suffered knife wounds to her hands, he added.

The suspects were at large, and officers were still processing the scene, Hirman said.

Auburn police deactivate bomb woman found in gas hatch of her vehicle

A woman found an explosive device in the gas hatch of her vehicle this afternoon when she stopped to get fuel at Fred Meyer in Auburn, police said.

Auburn police responded about 2:30 p.m. to the parking lot at 8th Street Northeast and Auburn Way North, Commander Mike Hirman said.

The woman, from Auburn, called when she saw what looked like a fuse and tape sticking out of the hatch.

Hirman said the Federal Way bomb squad deactivated the device and police finished securing the scene just before 5 p.m.
