Crews put out brush fire behind Mt. Tahoma High School

Firefighters just finished putting out a roughly 200-by-200 foot brush fire at South Tyler and South 74th streets by Mount Tahoma High School, Tacoma Fire Battalion Chief Jim Zuluaga said.

No buildings were in danger, and no one was hurt.

Tacoma Power crews had to let emergency workers through gates to access the flames, but the nearby power substation was not threatened, Zuluaga said.
