Seattle police looking for witnesses to bicycle-car crash that killed Gig Harbor man

Police are looking for witnesses to a bicycle-car crash May 30 in Seattle that killed a Gig Harbor man.

He has been identified as Darren Fouquette, 46, by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. in the 9400 block of Airport Way South. Both the Gig Harbor bicyclist and a Nissan Sedan were heading south on Airport Way, when the vehicle hit the bicycle from behind and the Gig Harbor man was ejected from his bike, Det. Mike Korner said Wednesday.

Fouquette was taken to Harborview, and ultimately died from the injuries he suffered in the crash.

Woman killed in head-on crash Friday night in Seattle; injured passengers’ status unknown

A 51-year-old woman was killed in a head-on collision Friday night on state Route 99, the Washington State Patrol said.

KIRO-TV reported the crash occurred in northbound lanes south of 14th Avenue South in Seattle.

The victim’s vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup, was traveling north on SR 99 when a 2000 Dodge Caravan was traveling southbound on West Marginal Place South, according to state patrol.

The Dodge left the roadway, drove through a fence and went southbound in the northbound lanes. The two vehicles collided head-on.

Two other passengers in the pickup were injured

Up to $11,000 reward offered for info on burglars who stole Wii game consoles

Anyone with information on the burglars who stole $2 million worth of Wii game consoles from a Seattle air cargo last month could earn up to $11,000 in reward monies, according to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.

The theft happened Dec. 16 between 12:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. at the air cargo, 19111 Des Moines Memorial Dr.

The thieves used forklifts and trailers to steal 65 pallets of Wii game consoles. Some of the trailers and trucks used were later located in Auburn and Fife, King County sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies looking for missing WWII fighter pilot from Puyallup

Deputies are looking for an 89-year-old WWII veteran from Puyallup who was last seen 4 p.m. Tuesday.

That’s when the former fighter pilot, Roy J. Alldritt, drove his roommate to the Pacific Medical Center in Seattle.

She came out of the building about 15 minutes later and found that Alldritt and his white 1996 Toyota pickup were gone.

He hasn’t been home and doesn’t seem to have contacted friends or family since.

His roommate said Alldritt suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Fife man killed in Seattle crash

A 23-year-old man from Fife died after he was ejected from his  motorcycle in Seattle Monday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Clinton Siegmann was driving just after 11 p.m. on the ramp from Mercer Street to southbound Interstate 5, when the vehicle lost control and both he and his 24-year-old female passenger were ejected, the State Patrol said.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center for her injuries.

The  cause of the crash is unknown, according to the State Patrol.

Both the driver and passenger were wearing helmets, troopers said.

Woman suspected of child pornography may have worked recently in Seattle-Tacoma area

Officials are looking for a suspected child pornographer who may have worked recently in the Seattle-Tacoma area, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.

Special agents with the group say they have learned a woman resembling the suspect may have worked in the area.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued an arrest warrant two weeks ago for the “Jane Doe” suspect.

Officials believe that the unidentified woman may have produced videos of her and a man engaging in sexual contact with two minors, according to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement release.

Missing teenage girl could be in Pierce, King counties

Authorities are looking for a 14-year-old Sunnyside girl who has been missing for six months and could be in Pierce or King counties.

Jessica Mojica Estrada was last seen at her Sunnyside home Jan. 13. Police believe she may be in Tacoma, Federal Way, Seattle or Everett.

She is Hispanic, 5 feet 3 and 120 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a mole on her cheek.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Sunnyside Police Department at 509-837-2120.

DOJ details findings in Seattle Police investigation

The U.S. Department of Justice is detailing its investigation into the Seattle Police Department this morning.

Here’s the agency press release on its findings:

WASHINGTON – Following a comprehensive investigation, the Justice Department today announced its findings that the Seattle Police Department (SPD) has engaged in a pattern or practice of excessive force that violates the Constitution and federal law.  A letter detailing the findings was delivered to Seattle Mayor Michael McGinn and Police Chief John Diaz.
