		<description><![CDATA[<a class="postimage" href="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2013/02/05/puyallup-police-dog-finds-felon-hiding-under-mobile-home-porch/"><img src="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/wp-content/blogs.dir/12/files/2013/02/puy-dog-200x266.jpeg" width="200" height="266" /></a><p>A Puyallup police dog led officers to a wanted felon hiding beneath a mobile home porch early this morning.</p> <p>The dog, Maverick, was assisting Pierce County sheriff&#8217;s deputies find the felon, who was believed to be in the Meridian Mobile Estates in the 200 block of Meridian Avenue Southeast.</p> <p>When police knocked on his trailer about 1 a.m., the man fled. Maverick and his handler were called in and the dog tracked the felon to a nearby mobile home, where he was found hiding under the porch.</p> <p>The man was taken into custody.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>UPDATE</strong><em>as of 1:27 p.m. </em></p> <p>Two hikers stranded overnight were rescued this afternoon and are being treated at Morton General Hospital.</p> <p>They waved an orange sleeping bag in the air to grab the attention of a search plane flying overhead in the Goat Rock area.</p> <p>The couple, visiting from Oklahoma, had supplies for a four-day hike but ran into trouble after just a few hours. The 62-year-old husband slid 60 feet down a snow field and struck his head. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>A Pierce County sheriff&#8217;s search and rescue team escorted five lost hikers out of the mountains Sunday.</p> <p>Five 18-year-old men set out Saturday for a day hike to Summit Lake in the Carbon River Road area. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>Search efforts expanded today for a University Place hiker who hasn&#8217;t been seen since Friday, when he went for a solo hike in the Cascade foothills.</p> <p>Several members of the King County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Search and Rescue Unit were airlifted into the Green Mountain area of Snoqualmie National Forest after a hiker reported seeing 50-year-old John Wright on a trail Friday.</p> <p>That trail is considered to difficult to navigate, officials said, and searchers focused there after a hiker reported passing Wright and speaking with him for a few minutes.
