UPDATE: Car and school bus crash after car was involved in shooting 7 blocks away, deputies say

UPDATE as of 5:25 p.m. Deputies arrested a 32-year-old man for investigation of the shooting, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. Deputies found the suspect in the Parkland area and the car hidden behind a building in the 13600 block of Pacific Avenue in Parkland, Troyer said. The man was arrested for investigation of assault, hit and run, and possession of stolen property.

Federal Way school bus-car crash sends one student to hospital with minor injuries

UPDATE as of 4:40 p.m. from Federal Way police: The crash was a head-on collision between the bus and a black Honda Civic. The two adults in the car were also taken to the hospital with injuries. There were 51 students on the bus.

The adults suffered minor injuries, according to South King Fire & Rescue.

INITIAL POST: One student is being transported to the hospital with minor injuries after a school bus-car crash in Federal Way, according to South King Fire & Rescue.

The crash happened in the 29500 block of 9th Avenue South about 2:50 p.m.

Students safely rescued from school bus after collision with power pole

From news partner KIRO-TV:

Downed electrical lines trapped 38 students on a school bus in Auburn this afternoon after the bus hit a power pole on its route home.

The power lines fell atop the bus after the accident at 292nd Street Southeast and 132nd Avenue Southeast.

No one was hurt.

The students were from Arthur Jacobson Elementary School, said deputy superintendent Mike Newman.

Puget Sound Energy crews responded to the scene, and confirmed an outage that affected 1,700 customers was caused by the school bus.

No one injured in school bus crash near Roy

No one was injured today after a school bus collided with two vehicles near Roy, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident occurred at state Route 702 and Kinsman Road East.

There were 10 students and a driver on the bus, which had recently left Roy Elementary School.

Details on the collision have not been released.

Car and Tacoma school bus collide; no students injured

A car and a Tacoma School District bus with 25 Mount Tahoma High School students aboard collided about 10 minutes ago on South Tyler Street, the Tacoma FIre Department reports.

Firefighters determined no one was injured on the bus or in the car in the collision that occurred in the 8200 block of South Tyler Street.

School District spokesman Dan Voelpel said transportation officials reported that a car swerved to miss a cat, and the bus and car collided.

Voelpel said they are bringing another bus to the scene to pick up the students.
