		<description><![CDATA[<p>A 35-year-old woman accused of purposely throwing her 3-month-old daughter to the floor Sunday made statements to arresting deputies about alternate dimensions and Hitler, court records show.</p> <p>Anna A. Murphy pleaded not guilty Monday to a single count of second-degree child assault during her arraignment in Pierce County Superior Court. Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered Murphy jailed in lieu of $150,000 bail and prohibited her from having contact with children should she be released.</p> <p>Murphy was arrested at her home outside Puyallup after she called 911 to report she&#8217;d committed a crime against her daughter, court records show. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>The Puyallup Police Department is asking for the public&#8217;s help as they investigate an attempted child luring incident that occurred Friday night, June 14, in the 1300 block of East Pioneer in downtown Puyallup.</p> <p>A 16-year-old boy reported that at about 10 p.m. Friday, a man approached him as he was walking home from the grocery store and asked him to get into his vehicle. The warrant was issued May 30.</p> <p>Sheriff&#8217;s deputies served a warrant at his home in December and found items used to make explosives and meth. 		<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>UPDATE as of 6:53 p.m.&#160;</strong>All lanes have been cleared, according to police.</p> <p><strong>INITIAL POST:</strong> Puyallup police said a three-car crash caused by a drunken driver has caused minor injuries to others and closed two of three lanes of eastbound River Road.</p> <p>Traffic is being rerouted to Fourth Street Northwest until the roadway is cleared, and drivers are asked to avoid the area, according to police.</p> <p>Police said about 6 p.m. that the crash had happened in the 300 block of River Road.</p> <p>Further details were not immediately available.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>A 46-year-old Puyallup man died Thursday night after striking the back of a semi-truck trailer, losing control of his vehicle and running off the road, according to the Washington State Patrol.</p> <p>The accident happened about 10:45 p.m. on westbound state Route 512 at milepost 9 in Puyallup.</p> <p>The man, who was driving a 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck, has been identified as David Rogers. The driver of the semi, a 39-year-old Vancouver man, was not injured. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>A 47-year-old man high on meth started a small fire in a downtown McDonalds restaurant early this morning, according to Puyallup police.</p> <p>Employees at the fast food restaurant called 911 about 12:20 a.m. to report a man had come inside and touched two wires together, causing sparks that ignited.</p> <p>When officers arrived, they found the man hiding in a cooler at a nearby convenience store.</p> <p>He was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of arson, malicious mischief and criminal trespassing.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>A junior at Puyallup High School was arrested today for allegedly bringing a gun to school Thursday, police said.</p> <p>A school resource officer learned today that the boy had been seen with a handgun on campus. During the investigation, the school was placed on lockdown.</p> <p>Officers found the boy at home and recovered an Airsoft pistol. It is unknown if that is the same weapon he was spotted with at Puyallup High.</p> <p>The boy was booked into Remann Hall on suspicion of unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Drivers on their cell phones have become a top safety concern, prompting an enforcement patrol that will put more law enforcement on Pierce County roads starting Monday.</p> <p>The emphasis patrol will last until June 2.</p> <p>During the same enforcement period last year, authorities doled out 1,059 cell phone violations and 3,171 seat belt violations statewide.</p> <p>Participating agencies include Fircrest, Lakewood, Orting, Puyallup, Sumner and Tacoma police, as well as the Pierce County Sheriff&#8217;s Department and the Washington State Patrol.</p>]]></description>
