Tacoma man gets 23 years in sex trafficking case

A Tacoma man convicted of coercing women and girls to work for him as prostitutes was sentenced Thursday to 23 years in federal prison.

A jury last year convicted Alexander Walls, 27, of conspiracy to transport a juvenile for prostitution, interstate transportation of a child for prostitution, witness tampering, conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and three counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.

Prosecutors said Walls and another man, Reginald Irvin, recruited woman and girls to sell sex in Pierce and King counties, often advertising their services on and Craigslist.

UPDATE: Two men charged after father recognizes teenage daughter’s picture on

UPDATE as of 4:30 p.m. Both men pleaded not guilty, and the court set bail at $500,000 for each.

INITIAL POST: A father recognized his 15-year-old daughter’s photograph on Monday and called Fife police, who arrested two men suspected of pimping her and another teenage runaway.

Today, Pierce County prosecutors charged Samuel Miles-Johnson, 25, and Joshua Jones, 23, with promoting sexual abuse of a minor.

Both men are scheduled to enter pleas in court at 2:30 p.m.

Tacoma man sentenced to federal prison for sex trafficking

A Tacoma man convicted of being a violent pimp has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

Reginald Irvin, 35, previously pleaded guilty to interstate transportation of an individual for prostitution and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking.

Authorities said Irvin coerced women to work as prostitutes and ruled over them with an iron hand, taking all the proceeds they made and raping, beating or humiliating them if they stepped out of line.

Owner of Federal Way bar is sentenced to six years in prison for promoting prostitution

The man who owned a Federal Way bar that authorities say was a front for prostitution was sentenced today to six years in federal prison.

Milton resident Chang Young Kim, 59, also was ordered to pay $112,050 in restitution and over $1.6 million in back taxes and penalties to the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle reported.

Tacoma man accused of raping, pimping 15-year-old girl

Pierce County prosecutors have charged a Tacoma man with raping and pimping a 15-year-old girl who says she was abducted in California and forced to work as a prostitute.

Not guilty pleas were entered today on behalf of Tyler Wallace Elkins, 20, to one count each of promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor and third-degree child rape.

Superior Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered Elkins jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.

The case against Elkins began Tuesday when the girl called police to report her wallet stolen, court records show.
