State Patrol arrests soldier accused of using Internet to exploit underage girls while deployed

A JBLM soldier accused of using “fear tactics” to get illegal pictures and video from teenage girls was arrested this afternoon after the Washington State Patrol learned he had returned from an overseas deployment.

The suspect, 24, was booked into Pierce County Jail for investigation of Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, Communication With A Minor for Immoral Purposes, Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, and Extortion, according to the State Patrol.

The eight alleged victims are between 15- and 17-years-old.

The News Tribune does not generally name suspects until they have been formally charged.

Sex offender accused of taking photos of young girls at Federal Way Costco

A convicted sex offender suspected of surreptitiously taking photographs of young girls at the Federal Way store where he works was arrested today, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Gregory Sean O’Neall, 51, of Des Moines, made his first court appearance today after being taken into custody by U.S. Immigrations and Custom Enforcement agents.

O’Neall’s postings on an online file sharing sight grabbed the attention of agents, who said he was distributing online child pornography.

During a chat with an undercover agent, O’Neall allegedly discussed several of the pictures.

Special Commitment Center resident sentenced to 10 years for possessing child porn

A federal judge today sentenced a 70-year-old resident of the state’s Special Commitment Center for sexually violent offenders to 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Keith Jonathon Rogers in December pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

He was arrested in 2009 as part of a federal investigation of contraband smuggling at the facility.

Investigators said they found more than 350 images of child pornography on a computer in Roger’s room. The images mostly showed young girls being raped by men, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle.

Lacey man arrested in child porn investigation

A state task force has arrested a Lacey man suspected of dealing in sexually-explicit images of minors.


The investigation was conducted by the Washington State Patrol Missing and Exploited Children Task Force, which is comprised of detectives from the State Patrol and Lakewood and Puyallup Police Departments. Lacey police officers also assisted in this case, the State Patrol reported.
