Motorcyclist killed in Graham crash with car

A man riding his motorcycle in Graham was killed tonight when a car turned in front of him and the two vehicles crashed, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The crash happened about 5 p.m. near 224th Street East and Meridian Avenue East.

Crews performed CPR on the motorcyclist, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Troyer said.

No one else was injured.

UPDATED: Mustang and motorcycle crash at 24th and Proctor, both drivers injured

UPDATE as of 4 p.m. Monday: The injuries of both drivers were not life-threatening, Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said. The Mustang turned left in front of the motorcycle, and the driver of the car was cited for failure to yield the right of way, Cool said.

INITIAL POST: A Mustang and a motorcycle crashed about 12:30 p.m. today at North Proctor and North 24th streets.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital, according to Tacoma Fire.

The conditions of both the man who was driving the motorcycle and the woman behind the wheel of the Mustang weren’t immediately available.

Man dead, woman injured after motorcycle-BMW crash south of Gig Harbor

A Tacoma man riding his motorcycle died Saturday after a Gig Harbor woman driving a BMW crossed the center line about 7:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of East Bay Drive Northwest and hit him head-on, according the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

The 69-year-old man was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead after the crash south of Gig Harbor. He was identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office as Alex Heinz.

The woman, 71, was taken to the hospital for injuries, and is expected to be okay, Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

King County Sheriff’s deputy injured in off-duty motorcycle crash near Frederickson dies

A King County sheriff’s deputy died Wednesday night at Tacoma General Hospital from injuries suffered in an off-duty motorcycle crash Monday near Frederickson, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Martin “Marty” Duran, 47, served in the Army before becoming a paramedic and firefighter in New Mexico, sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindi West said. He eventually became a deputy with the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico, and in 2004 started working for King County.

He most recently worked out of the Burien station, in the White Center and Skyway areas.

Man critically injured in Frederickson motorcycle crash was off-duty King County deputy

A 47-year-old man seriously injured in a motorcycle crash near Frederickson Monday night was an off-duty King County Sheriff’s deputy, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The South Hill area man remains in critical condition after the crash, which happened about 5 p.m. in the 7500 block of 176th Street East, Troyer said.

Man, 47, in critical condition after motorcycle crash near Frederickson

A 46-year-old South Hill man is in critical condition after his motorcycle crashed about 5 p.m. in the 7500 block of 176th Street East, and deputies are looking for witnesses to the wreck.

No other vehicles involved in the crash were found at the scene, on the border of Frederickson, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said, but skid marks indicate the man was stopping abruptly at the time of the wreck.

The man was taken to Tacoma General Hospital. He did not have any passengers on the bike, and was wearing a helmet, Troyer said.

UDPATED: Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash with car in Tacoma

UPDATE: The patient is a 46-year-old male, according to Tacoma police. He was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center and his injuries remained life-threatening Thursday night, spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

INITIAL POST: A motorcyclist is in critical condition tonight after a crash with a vehicle at South 96th Street and Pacific Avenue South, according to Tacoma Fire.

Medics from Central Pierce Fire & Rescue and Tacoma Fire were dispatched to the scene at 7:42 p.m.

The patient was taken to a local hospital.

Motorcycle hits car in Spanaway, driver seriously injured

A 49-year-old woman riding a motorcycle in Spanaway was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center with life-threatening injuries this evening, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman was riding east about 6 :30 p.m. on 176th Street East near Pacific Avenue South, when a vehicle turned in front of her into a shopping center and she hit its side, assistant chief Randy Stephens said.

The woman’s helmet came off during the crash, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The crash is still being investigated, he said.
