Seattle police find missing Lakewood man

A missing 62-year-old Lakewood man has been found and reunited with his family.

Seattle police located Victor Keith Myers, who suffers from dementia, Wednesday night, the Lakewood Police Department reported this morning.

Myers was last seen leaving the home he shares with his nephew. He had talked of doing some banking in Seattle and possibly handling retirement paperwork at the University of Washington.

Myers’ family reported him missing Monday.

Police, family seeking help in 2006 disappearance of young woman

Family members and Auburn police are asking for the public’s help in finding a young woman who’s was last seen more than four years ago.

Caleta S. White will be 23 on Saturday. Her mother last saw her Aug. 21, 2006, when White was 18.

Auburn police have been investigating the circumstances surrounding White’s disappearance. They  believe there are people in the community who might have information about what happened.

White might have traveled to Tacoma or Detroit. She is 5 feet 1, was 83 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Vigil scheduled for missing Tacoma girl

The mother of a toddler who disappeared from a bowling alley more than a decade ago is holding a candlelight vigil Sunday in her honor.

For the last 12 years, Theresa Lewis has returned to the spot where she last saw her daughter to say a prayer that one day Teekah Lewis comes home.

“I don’t like to go back to the site but I do it for my daughter,” she said. “Whatever I can do, I do. We want the public to come out, we want the community’s support.”

Sumner police identify body as missing man’s

Sumner police say there are no obvious signs of foul play in the death of missing 21-year-old man whose body was found Thursday afternoon.

“They saw no obvious signs of foul play or trauma,” City of Sumner spokeswoman Carmen Palmer said this morning.

Sumner police idenitfied the body as that of Maurice Charles McCall who was last  seen alive about 1:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day after attending a  party in the 13700 block of 24th Street East in Sumner, police said.

Sumner police, partners search again for missing man

For the third day, Sumner Police are searching for Maurice Charles McCall, 21, who has been missing since approximately 1:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

He was last seen seen in the 13700 block of 24th Street E.

Sumner Police will be assisted by Pierce County Urban Search and Rescue, which includes bloodhounds, German shepherds, volunteers, a fixed-wing plane and a helicopter.

Search partners are the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue team and Pierce County’s Department of Emergency Management.

UPDATED: Body is missing Gig Harbor woman

POSTED Today: Gig Harbor police believe a missing 21-year-old Gig Harbor woman whose body was found Wednesday committed suicide.

Police Chief Mike Davis said the body of Whitney Lee Schaefer, who was last seen by friends Dec. 22, was found by two city Public Works employees in a wooded area off Borgen Boulevard in north Gig Harbor.

“The exact manner of her death isn’t known,” he said. “We believe it was suicide. It’s what we were afraid of. We won’t know the exact cause of death until we get the Medical Examiner’s report.”

UPDATED: Search resumes for missing Sumner man

Updated today: The search resumed this morning for the missing Sumner man with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team with blood hounds and a helicopter joining in.

The search resumed at approximately 11:00, rechecking the Sumner industrial area around where McCall was last seen while the helicopter will broaden the search by air through the afternoon, according to Sumner officials.

The search Tuesday included members of Sumner Police, Sumner Public Works, Pierce County Metro Cities Crime Response Unit, City of Pacific, City of Auburn and a bloodhound from City of Fife.  The search

Gig Harbor police looking for missing woman

Gig Harbor police are searching for a 21-year-old woman who has not been seen since Dec. 22.

Foul play is not suspected. Police and family members are afraid Whitney Lee Schaefer might hurt herself, and are asking for the public’s help in locating her.

She was last seen leaving her job at a Borgen Boulevard business last week. She told her supervisor she could not work overtime because she had to catch a bus to Tacoma.

Schaefer does not own a vehicle and has friends in Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Seattle and Ruston.
