UPDATED: Veteran prone to ‘angry outbursts’ missing from Soldiers Home in Orting

UPDATE: Steele was found safe in Westport, according to Orting police.

INITIAL POST: A 65-year-old veteran known to have angry outbursts walked away from the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting Monday and has not returned, officials said.

Michael Gordon Steele was reported missing this morning.

Police said he left without his medication and was possibly headed to Gig Harbor or Westport. He could be disoriented and is prone to outbursts.

Steele is 6-feet and 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is known to wear a dark blue coat and blue jeans.

UPDATED: Elderly Federal Way man missing since Monday found safe

UPDATE as of 1:12 a.m.: Seattle police found Snodgrass and his vehicle safe just after midnight.

INITIAL POST: An 85-year-old Federal Way man has been missing since noon Monday, according to police.

Edward Snodgrass was last seen leaving his home in the 32400 block of 44th Avenue South, wearing a plain blue baseball cap, green coat, black sweatshirt and black Dickies pants.

He was heading to an appointment at the Veterans Affairs clinic in Federal Way. A relative planned to drive him, but Snodgrass didn’t want to wait and took off in his 2002 white Chevrolet S10 truck, according to

Remains found in Federal Way identified as missing Lakewood man

Skeletal remains found in Federal Way Feb. 22 have been identified as Faatoaga Tavita Ufuti by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

What caused his death is still being investigated.

Ufuti was 43 when he was reported missing from his Lakewood home March 12, 2012.

His then-pregnant wife assumed he had run to the store when she woke up that morning and found her husband missing.

He had a 1-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter at the time, and his wife was expected to give birth again in September.

The investigation into his death and disappearance is ongoing.

Search on for missing Kitsap County man

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in finding Nathaniel Charles G. Davis, a 28-year-old man who was last seen Feb. 13 at his mother’s home in the 4000 block of Madrona Drive Southeast in South Kitsap.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Davis has Asperger syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder, and he has been known to use methamphetamine. His family says he has recently displayed signs of paranoia.

Spanaway candlelight vigil to mark one-year anniversary of teen’s disappearance

A candlelight vigil Saturday in Spanaway will mark the anniversary of the disappearance of Chris Virdell, who was 18 when he went missing from a friend’s home Feb. 9, 2012.

The 5 p.m. vigil will last about two hours at the powerlines at 45th Avenue East and 224th Street East in Spanaway, where Virdell was last seen.

Virdell is described as a white male, 5 foot 6, 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was described by co-workers as a perfect employee who never missed work, according to Tacoma Pierce-County Crime Stoppers.

Vigil to be held Wednesday for Teekah Lewis, Tacoma girl missing since 1999

A candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday night in honor of Teekah Lewis, a 2 ½-year-old girl who disappeared Jan. 23, 1999, from a Tacoma bowling alley.

“I hate the 23rd of January. I don’t even want to wake up on that day but I do it. I do it for Teekah,” said her mother, Theresa Lewis.

Teekah went missing from New Frontier Lanes the night of Jan. 23 while her mother and other family members knocked down pins. The brown-eyed girl was last seen playing near a video game.

Missing Minnesota man might have come to Tacoma

Minnesota police say a man missing from Bemidji, Minn., since October might have been headed for Tacoma.

Matthew Charles Pulis, 31, was last seen early Oct. 20 in downtown Bemidji. A truck driver recently told detectives he gave a ride out of Bemidji to a man matching Pulis’s description after the disappearance. The man told the driver he was on his way to Tacoma, police said.

Pulis is described as 5 feet 7, 165 pounds, with blue eyes and longer, light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with a zipper.

FOUND: South Kitsap teen missing since Wednesday afternoon

UPDATE: Boyd was found unharmed about 3 p.m. in a recreational facility in Port Orchard, deputies said, and has been returned to his mother.

INITIAL POST: Gabriel Deshawn Boyd, 13, has not been seen since about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at East Port Orchard Elementary School at 2649 Hoover Avenue S.E., according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Boyd was reported missing early this morning from a family residence on Southeast Horstman Road in South Kitsap.

He family said he left his mother’s home to visit with a friend, and did not return, according to the sheriff’s office.
