East Pierce Fire and Rescue crews engineered a happy ending Friday.</p> <p>The call came at 12:57 p.m. from an address in the 12500 block of 35th Street East, according to fire officials. The man had been backing up his truck, but he hit the gas instead of the brake, and rolled over the edge of the embankment. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>Lakewood police are looking for a man who critically injured another man Wednesday night in a Lakewood poolroom.</p> <p>Police say the assault occurred at about 11:25 p.m at the Last Call bar in the 7300 block of Lakewood Drive. </p> <p>According to Lakewood Police, the victim was playing pool and bumped into the suspect, who was also playing pool nearby. The suspect then punched the victim, causing him to strike his head on the floor when he fell.</p> <p>The victim immediately lost consciousness, according to police, and has life-threatening injuries. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 7-9, crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close two westbound State Route 16 lanes across the 1950 Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The two remaining westbound lanes will stay open through each night.</p> <p>During the lane closures, crews will continue work to remove original steel rivets from the bridge&#8217;s westernmost expansion joint in preparation for replacing it. They will use pneumatic rivet busters to shear off the heads of the rivets, punch the rivet stems out of the steel joints, and replace the rivets with bolts. <a href="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2013/05/03/lane-closures-on-old-narrows-bridge/" class="ellipsis">&#8230;</a></p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Kent Police are investigating the circumstances of an early morning collision that left a male driver dead and injured his passenger. </p> <p>According to Kent Police, the accident occurred at about 4 a.m. in the 9200 block of South 208th Street, when the man drove off the road in the middle of the block and struck a tree. </p> <p>Kent Police worked along with fire and medic crews to revive and stabilize the driver, but they were unsuccessful. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the pick-up and the passenger car are deceased.</p> <p>The crash occurred near 166th Avenue East. Witnesses report a pickup crossed the barrier, hitting a car traveling in the opposite direction. A fully-loaded semi truck with trailer slammed into both vehicles. </p> <p>East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters responded. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>Federal agents arrested a 35-year-old Renton man today for allegedly trafficking in art he said was created by Tacoma native Dale Chihuly even though it wasn&#8217;t.</p> <p>The U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office in Seattle said the man sold or offered for sale glass art and paintings attributed to Chihuly.</p> <p>&#8220;However, an expert in Chihuly&#8217;s work examined the pieces at the request of the purchaser and determined they were fakes,&#8221; the office said in a news release. &#8220;The papers that were supposed to authenticate the works were also allegedly forged.&#8221;</p> <p>The man offered the works on eBay.</p> <p>Trafficking in counterfeit goods is punishable <a href="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2013/04/25/man-arrested-for-selling-counterfeit-chihuly-art/" class="ellipsis">&#8230;</a></p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>The manager of the Victoria&#8217;s Secret store at South Hill Mall was injured Saturday morning when she attempted to stop three women stealing brassieres. </p> <p>According to Puyallup Police, three women entered the luxury lingerie shop at approximately 11:30 a.m., scooped up about 150 bras worth an estimated $8,000 and made for the door.</p> <p>&#8220;It was a grab and run,&#8221; said Dave McDonald, assistant chief of the Puyallup Police Department. &#8220;They loaded up and took off.&#8221;</p> <p>The store manager followed the robbers and attempted to stop them just outside the store&#8217;s main entrance.</p> <p>All three of the women attacked the <a href="http://blog.thenewstribune.com/crime/2013/04/20/bra-burglars-hit-victorias-secret-in-south-hill/" class="ellipsis">&#8230;</a></p>
