Woman allegedly killed by husband at Tacoma motel said ‘He will never let me go’

UPDATE as of 4:08 p.m. At this point, deputies believe Sara Barrett was killed in the motel room, but do not yet know if she was injured before that, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. The cause of her death has yet to be determined, he said.

Bench warrant issued for repeat drunken driver

A bench warrant has been issued for a repeat drunken driver recently charged with another DUI after being stopped last month in DuPont.

The 49-year-old man was convicted in 1994 with vehicular assault while intoxicated and with felony DUI for a 2010 offense. Prosecutors charged him this week with felony DUI for a Feb. 4 traffic stop in which he refused to take a breathalyzer test.
