Search continues for missing pilot

It’s a fairly quite morning around here. (Although now that I have used the “q” word, something may happen.)


The main thing we’re following is the continued search for missing 78-year-old pilot, Thomas Maxwell.


He and his plane have been missing since Thursday evening.


Search and rescue personnel will be in the air and on the ground, looking for Maxwell again today.


At this point, they are still focusing on his likely flight path between Kent and Puyallup. It’s a 20-mile or so stretch and takes about 10 minutes of flight time.

How do you protect your property while flying?

The arrests of two Sea-Tac baggage handlers on suspicion of stealing items out of luggage raises some questions about safety of your luggage and concerns about how to protect your valuables when you fly given all of the current restrictions.


Bob Parker, spokesman for the airport, says you should keep high-valued items with you in your carry-on luggage. He also advises that you should report any missing items to the airline AND airport police.


This has elicited some strong reaction already. I got this e-mail from a reader this morning.
