Crews put out University Place brush fire

West Pierce Fire & Rescue crews are finishing up at the scene of a 100-by-100 foot brush fire in the 6200 block of Lakewood Drive West that they responded to about 1:30 p.m., Assistant Fire Marshal Hallie McCurdy said.

No one was injured, and the fire didn’t reach any residences, she said.

Firefighters have put out the blaze, and are almost done at the site.
