2-alarm fire damages University Place pub

A 2-alarm fire damaged the Ale House Pub & Eatery in University Place early this morning, according to West Pierce Fire & Rescue.

A passerby called 911 about 3:45 a.m. to report seeing smoke in the restaurant at 2122 Mildred St. Firefighters arrived to find that a kitchen fire had spread to the roof.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. An estimate of damages was not immediately available and no one was injured.
