A man was shot in the hip Tuesday night while sitting in his car in a fast food parking lot, Tacoma police said.

The victim’s girlfriend called police at 9:30 p.m. to report the shooting in the 2900 block of South 38th Street.

They told officers a man parked next to them, fired a single shot and then drove off.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said it’s unclear what prompted the incident. No arrests have been made.
