Fire ripped through a house in Tacoma’s Browns Point neighborhood Tuesday morning, firefighters said.

The blaze broke out just after 3 a.m. in the home in the 4200 block of Browns Point Boulevard.

Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting through the roof. Seven people who’d been inside the house — five adults and two children — made it outside and weren’t hurt.

The house was severely damaged, firefighters said.

No word yet as to the cause.
