School patrols increase in Bonney Lake after more reports of attempted child luring

Bonney Lake police said they are increasing patrols before and after school after more reports came in of a man trying to lure children into his van.

Parents told officers similar tales after hearing about an incident Thursday where a man told a 14-year-old girl walking to the bus stop in the 11000 block of Angeline Road that he was going to get her.

The girl hid behind a tree until a friend’s mother drove by and stopped to help.

Police said the man is white, in his early 40s or 50s with light-colored eyes and light facial hair. He is heavier set, has a pale face and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The van is deep red with tinted windows.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bonney Lake Police Department at 253-863-2218.
