Bonney Lake police are searching for a middle-aged man suspected of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into his van this morning.

The incident happened about 6:35 a.m. in the 11000 block of Angeline Road.

The girl told officers she was walking to her bus stop when she noticed a van driving slowly behind her. The van passed her and turned around twice.

As she grew fearful, the girl began walking to her friend’s house. When she reached the corner of Angeline Road and 110th Street Court East, the van pulled up next to her and the driver told her “I’m going to get you.”

The girl ran and hid behind a tree until she spotted her friend’s mother passing by and flagged her down for help.

Police said the man is white, in his early 40s or 50s with light-colored eyes and light facial hair. He is heavier set, has a pale face and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The van is deep red with tinted windows.

Anyone with information about the attempted child luring is asked to call the Bonney Lake Police Department at 253-863-2218.
