Police are looking for witnesses to a bicycle-car crash May 30 in Seattle that killed a Gig Harbor man.

He has been identified as Darren Fouquette, 46, by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. in the 9400 block of Airport Way South. Both the Gig Harbor bicyclist and a Nissan Sedan were heading south on Airport Way, when the vehicle hit the bicycle from behind and the Gig Harbor man was ejected from his bike, Det. Mike Korner said Wednesday.

Fouquette was taken to Harborview, and ultimately died from the injuries he suffered in the crash.

Officials determined that the driver of the Nissan was not impaired, and he was released from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Det. Mike Korner at (206) 684-8927.
