A Homeland Security officer a suspect hit with a car in Lakewood Wednesday night during a multi-agency narcotics investigation has been released from the hospital and should fully recover from his injuries, according to Lakewood police.
Lakewood Lt. Chris Lawler said the suspect, who the federal officer shot after the crash, is in stable condition at a local hospital.
He is a Hispanic man who has not been positively identified, Lawler said.
The federal officer is a special agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations, where he has worked for six years. He has 10 years of law enforcement experience.
The agent was released from the hospital late Wednesday night, after police say the suspect ran into his leg during a traffic stop about 8 p.m. at 108th Street Southwest and 47th Avenue Southwest.
The investigation being led by Lakewood police is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
