Police: 62nd Avenue East closed in Fife as crews respond to suicide

UPDATE as of 11:50 a.m. Fife police said that about 9:55 a.m. a 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the area, with an unresponsive male inside and a note taped to the window that said: “Do not open. Hydrogen Sulfide. Call 911.”

Emergency crews blocked off the area and entered the vehicle. They found the man was deceased, according to Fife police.

The potential area of exposure is minimal, officers said. 62nd Avenue East is still closed.

INITIAL POST: Fife police officers and Tacoma Fire are responding to an apparent suicide  in the 2500 block of 62nd Avenue East, according to Fife police.

Crews have closed down 62nd Avenue East to through traffic as they respond.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes until further notice.

Further details were not immediately available. Check back for updates.
