A 49-year-old woman who crashed head-on into a vehicle in Bonney Lake in February was drunk and had marijuana, opiates and Oxycodone in her system, Pierce County prosecutors say.

The woman has been charged with vehicular assault and third-degree driving on a suspended license. She is set to be arraigned June 4.

The accident happened Feb. 20 in the 2000 block of 210th Avenue East when the woman allegedly drove her Ford Explorer into oncoming traffic and struck another car.

The impact of the crash made the vehicles stick together, court records show.

The woman in the other car suffered a fractured leg and multiple bruises.

Witnesses told sheriff’s deputies they followed the woman’s SUV for a while because they suspected she was drunk.
