Kent officers arrested a professional basketball player who is suspected of brandishing a firearm and making threats at the mother of his child late Sunday afternoon.

According to Kent police:

Officers met with the woman about 2 p.m., who told investigators the father of her 10-year-old son arrived at her home in downtown Kent for a scheduled exchange of their son. She said an argument started in the parking lot, and that the man made threats and brandished a gun.

The suspect, identified as a player in the NBA, was later found and arrested.

The case is still being investigated.

The News Tribune does generally name suspects of crimes before they have been formally charged.
