A fire heavily damaged a home on Kent’s West Hill early this morning, according to the Fire Department.

A neighbor called 911 about 2:30 a.m. to report seeing smoke and flames coming from the house in the 23900 block of 43rd Avenue South.

Nobody was home at the time. The owners recently sold their house and were in the process of moving out, Deputy Fire Marshal Don Barberie said.

Crews from SeaTac and South King County Fire & Rescue helped attack the flames, which severely damaged the attic and roof.

No injuries were reported and a cause has not yet been determined.
