Nearly 200 suspected drunken drivers were arrested last weekend in Pierce, King and Snohomish counties for the Cinco de Mayo holiday, county officials said today.

Eighty percent of the arrests, which totaled 198, were made in Pierce and King counties.

About 50 cops participated in the emphasis patrol, tripling the number that normally patrols the roadways.

As part of the Home Safe Bar program, liquor control enforcement officers also teamed up with the parents of a DUI victim and visited 45 establishments that serve alcohol to talk about serving limits.
