Three Kent men have been charged with 77 counts of third-degree malicious mischief in connection with graffiti that has plagued two areas of the city since last year.

The arrests were made April 9 after Covington police served a search warrant at the home of one of the men.

Kent police began investigating the taggers in late March after receiving a tip that three particular monikers were popping up frequently in the city’s Valley and East Hill areas.

Graffiti bearing those names was first noticed on public and private property in 2012.

Residents can report graffiti in Kent by calling 253-856-GRAF.
