The child pornography was dumped at the Tacoma Landfill, along with a few tarps.

Employees found it March 8 and called police, who managed to track down the man who dumped the items. Their investigation eventually led them to the man’s former roommate.

Detectives were not able to interview the 57-year-old Bonney Lake man because he had a defense attorney return their call.

Police obtained fingerprints and DNA from the man.

Authorities said semen found on the pornographic pictures matches the defendant with a 1 in 16 quadrillion probability.

He has not been arrested. Prosecutors have charged him with three counts of possessing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 21.
