Puyallup police briefly closed Shaw Road this afternoon, after a man called 911 about 3:30 p.m. to report someone had shot out a window of his home in the 1600 block of 28th Street Southwest.

The man found a woman outside his residence who was armed with a handgun, according to Puyallup police.

Officers said the woman, 53, returned to her house before they arrived.

They set up a perimeter around her home, near Shaw Road, and closed Shaw roughly between 15th and 23rd avenues southeast.

Police were able to speak with her on the phone, she came out and was arrested without incident for investigation of first-degree assault, officers said.

Police are investigating to determine if a shot was indeed fired.

No one was injured.
