Two people died this morning in an accident on state Route 410, the Washington State Patrol says.

Trooper Guy Gill says says the accident occurred around 6 a.m. at Ehli Hill in Sumner.

A pick-up truck, passenger car, and a semi truck are involved. The drivers of the pick-up and the passenger car are deceased.

The crash occurred near 166th Avenue East. Witnesses report a pickup crossed the barrier, hitting a car traveling in the opposite direction. A fully-loaded semi truck with trailer slammed into both vehicles.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters responded. The drivers of the pickup and car were pronounced dead at the scene.

One eastbound lane of state Route 410 East is blocked. Both westbound lanes are blocked, but drivers are getting by on the shoulder.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.

UPDATE, 2:30 P.M.: All lanes of SR410 have reopened, says Trooper Guy Gill.
