Authorities today released the names of eight Federal Way police officers who shot at a man accused of killing four people at an apartment complex.

The officers were placed on administrative leave after the April 21 shooting at Pinewood Village in the 33300 block of 18th Lane South, which is standard procedure after a police shooting.

The officers are: John Buster, a 7-year veteran of the department; Keith Schmidt, who has been with the department nine years; Kris Durell, who has been with the department six years; Danny Graf, who has been with the department three years; Karl VanDyke, who has been with the department four years; Kyle Buchanan, a 9-year veteran of the department; and Nic Wong, who has been with the department for four years.

All eight officers opened fire on Dennis Clark III, 27, after he ignored orders and continued reaching for a handgun while lying in the parking lot of the complex.

Police said he fatally shot his live-in girlfriend, Justine Baez, 24, in their apartment. After a brief confrontation in the parking lot, he shot and killed Ceasar Valdovinos, 23, and Bradley Fischer, 47. Police said Clark then shot through the door of Roland Scobee, 62, because he urged neighbors to call 911.
