Tacoma police seek witnesses to hit-and-run accident that seriously injured pedestrian

Tacoma police are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run collision that seriously injured a 22-year-old man.

The accident occurred about 11:45 p.m. April 23 on South 56th Street just east of South Fawcett Avenue.

Police said the man, who may have been intoxicated, was trying to cross the street when an unknown vehicle struck him and sped off. Bystanders called for help for the man, who suffered multiple broken bones.

Anyone who witnessed the hit-and-run collision is asked to call Tacoma police Detective Jeff Turner at 253-591-5986.
