A Pierce County jury today convicted a 22-year-old Tacoma man of shooting an acquaintance in the back of the head then stuffing his body into a garbage bin two years ago.

Anthony Tyrone Clark also was found guilty of first-degree robbery, drug and weapons charges in the Sept. 7, 2011 death of Devondre Davis, 16.

Clark faces 35 to 43 years in prison when sentenced May 17.

Prosecutors argued Clark shot Davis in order to rob him of drugs, which he later tried to sell. Defense attorneys called the shooting an accident.

Jurors deliberated for less than a day before convicting Clark as charged.
