Tacoma police are searching for a gunman who robbed a gas station early Tuesday morning.

The man walked into the Circle K station in the 2600 block of North Pearl Street about 12:30 a.m. and grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler.

When he approached the counter, police said he pulled a gun out of his back pocket and threatened to shoot the clerk if she didn’t give him money. He allegedly said he needed the money for his children.

The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Although officers arrived within 24 seconds of being dispatched to the gas station, they could not find the robber.
